Christina Severin, MPH
President

Since 2006, as president, Christina Severin has overseen Network Health's dramatic growth, led the health plan's strategic direction, and managed its bottom line. Christina has been recognized as a Boston Business Journal "40 under 40" honoree and was recently profiled in the publication's "Women Up" feature for her superior leadership qualities. She has taught classes in health care administration and management at Boston University, Northeastern University, and Harvard University. Currently, she serves as a foundation associate for the Women Business Leaders of the U.S. Health Care Industry Foundation, officer and board member of the Association of Community Affiliated Health Plans, and board member of the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans (MAHP).

Previously, Christina served as Network Health vice president and chief operating officer and as director of quality. Prior to joining Network Health, Christina served as director of managed care for Health Services Partnership, practice manager at Codman Square Health Center, and director of community health center services at Boston City Hospital.

Christina earned a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Services from Boston University School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Economy from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

 

 

 

Michelle Bernard
Vice President of Operations

Michelle Bernard oversees customer service operations, call center management, claims processing, payment audits, appeals and grievances, business configuration, provider and member database services, and building and office management.

Previously, Michelle served as Network Health senior director of operations and director of claims. Prior to joining Network Health, Michelle served as director of claims at Neighborhood Health Plan, claims manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, and claims supervisor at Bay State Health Care.

Michelle earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Southeastern Massachusetts University (UMass Dartmouth).

 

 

 

Peter Bristol, MA
Vice President and Chief Technology Officer

Peter Bristol oversees all of our information technology (IT) functions including the development, maintenance, and support of health information exchange systems, business intelligence systems, Web and portal services, software support and optimization, and computing and communications infrastructure.

Previously, Peter held various positions on the Network Health IT team, including senior director of e-business and analytics/information technology, IT project manager, and health data analyst. Prior to joining Network Health, Peter held technical and financial roles of increasing responsibility at Sutter Health and acted as a network research analyst at Gartner Dataquest.

Peter earned a Master of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Boston University.

 

 

 

Paul Burke
Vice President of Network Management

Paul Burke is responsible for developing and managing Network Health's provider network, which includes all hospitals, ancillary service providers, physicians, and behavioral health providers. He also provides executive guidance and operational oversight for network growth strategies; spearheads value-based contracting efforts by overseeing improvements in care quality; handles provider enrollment and credentialing strategies; and directs ongoing provider support and education programs for facilities, physicians, and administrative staff.

Previously, Paul served as Network Health senior director of network management and director of contracting. Prior to joining Network Health, Paul served as director of network management and contracting at Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan, and in leadership positions in health care contracting and provider relations with organizations including Cape Cod Healthcare, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, and Delta Dental.

Paul earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Philosophy from Boston College.

 

 

 

Deborah Gordon, MBA
Vice President and Chief Marketing and External Affairs Officer

Debbie Gordon leads Network Health's marketing strategy and implementation efforts, overseeing advertising; branding; community outreach; health promotion; and public relations; provider communication; and member welcome, education, and orientation. Additionally, she leads Network Health's business development, strategic planning, governmental affairs, and public policy teams. Debbie is a 2013 USA Eisenhower Fellow, a prestigious fellowship meant to identify, empower, and link outstanding leaders from around the world in order to achieve consequential outcomes across sectors and borders. As part of this fellowship, she will travel abroad to study consumer empowerment in health care decision making. Debbie was also recognized as a 2011 Boston Business Journal "40 under 40" honoree. Debbie serves on the editorial board of Marketing Health Services magazine; the Institutional Advancement Committee of the Crittenton Women's Union Board of Directors; and the strategic planning and membership committees of the Boston Club.

Previously, Debbie served as Network Health senior director of marketing. Prior to joining Network Health, Debbie served as senior product manager at Staples, Inc.; principal of the Parthenon Group in Boston; and director of marketing at John Snow, Inc. (JSI)/Community Health Institute (CHI).

Debbie earned a Master of Business Administration with honors from Harvard Business School,and a Bachelor of Arts in Biomedical Ethics from Brown University.

 

 

 

Jeffrey Hulburt, MBA
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer

Jeff Hulburt leads Network Health's financial, accounting, and medical economics administration teams, overseeing premium rate setting, recoveries and expenses, and payment protocol. He is also responsible for budget development and oversight, enhancing purchasing strategies and expense management, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies’ financial requirements. Additionally, Jeff oversees all network and operations activities. He is currently an adjunct professor at Tufts Medical School and serves as chair of the Riverside Community Care Board of Directors.

Prior to joining Network Health, Jeff served as vice president of financial planning and analysis at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers’ health care consulting practice. He also held roles at Southcoast Health System and Children’s Hospital Boston.

Jeff earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Healthcare Finance from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a Bachelor of Science in Cardiopulmonary Science from Boston University.

 

 

 

Mary Jane McKendry, MBA
Vice President of Clinical Affairs

Mary Jane McKendry leads Network Health's integrated care management, medical management, behavioral health, social care management, clinical community outreach, and quality teams, supporting continuous quality improvement of clinical outcomes and managing medical expenses. Mary also serves on Governor Deval Patrick's Commission for Postpartum Depression and on the Clinical Advisory Board of Isis Parenting, Inc.

Previously, Mary served as Network Health senior director of clinical affairs. Prior to joining Network Health, Mary Jane served as the director of health services at Boston Medical Center HealthNet Plan, vice president of operations for Renaissance Health Care, and senior director of strategic relationships and consulting at McKesson Health Solutions.

Mary Jane earned a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science from Franklin Pierce University in Rindge, N.H., as well as a nursing degree from Salem Hospital School of Nursing.

 

 

 

Vincent C. Pina
Vice President of Human Resources

Vin Pina leads Network Health's human resources team, overseeing the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures. He also leads all human resources activities, including compensation, employee relations, recruiting, training, performance and strategic planning, benefits, and diversity. For his unwavering commitment to cultural diversity and inclusion in the workplace, he was named the "Diversity Champion" by the Northeast Human Resources Association in 2012 and a "Leader in Diversity" by the Boston Business Journal in 2011.

Previously, Vin served as Network Health senior director of human resources. Prior to Network Health, Vin served as a human resources consultant for the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Association and as vice president of human resources for Polaroid, where he earned 20 promotions during his 28-year tenure.

Vin earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Restaurant and Hotel Management from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

 

 

 

Pano M. Yeracaris, MD, MPH
Vice President and Chief Medical Officer

Pano Yeracaris leads Network Health’s clinical affairs activities, which include integrated care management, medical management, behavioral health, social care management, clinical community outreach, program evaluation, pharmacy services, and quality improvement. He also oversees Network Health’s clinical and wellness programs for members with chronic and acute medical conditions and special needs, such as asthma, diabetes, and physical disabilities. Pano is a member of the Board of Directors at the New England Eye Institute, where he also serves on the Executive Committee and chairs the Clinical Systems Committee. He is also a clinical instructor at Harvard Medical School.

Pano has over 30 years' medical practice and leadership experience. Prior to Network Health, he served as chief medical officer of Health Services Partnership and medical director for its two member health centers; as physician leader at Health Care Plan; assistant clinical professor at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine; and consultant for Capital University of Medical Sciences in Beijing, China, and for a USAID Managed Care Project in Zimbabwe through the Harvard School of Public Health.

Pano earned his medical degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo and completed his residency in family medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He also earned a Master of PUblic Health with a concentration in Health Care Management from Harvard School of Public Health, and a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College. He is board certified in family medicine.
